Whom we are…

The EduTEaCH-Africa project is a tech innovation and volunteer group, on a mission to resuscitate African dwindling fortunes through digital literacy and leadership development programmes for teachers and teens.

Our Core Areas of engagement

  • Training of teachers on digital literacy and tech-driven education, under the platform, TeacherTeachTech

2.

  •       Training of teens (school children and youths) on digital literacy, under the platform, Tech4Teens

  •      Preparing African youths for transformative leadership, under the platform, YouLeadAfrica.

Our Concern

Since 2017, when we began this project, our emphasis has been that Africa needs a shift in paradigm, both in education and leadership.

We created a lot of platforms, where we educate Africans, especially African educators on the need to embrace technology in education. We created the following online platforms:

1.      The African Teacher, a blog site (now defunct, as it was hacked). This blog was one of the top 100 Teacher/Education blog in 2018, the only Africa-based blog in that bracket.

2.      The Teacher Tech Africa, a blog site that promotes edtech and digital literacy inclusion across Africa.

3.      The African Tech Teachers Network, a Facebook Page (that grew in number before Facebook management closed it)

4.      The African Teachers Network, a Facebook group

5.      Teacher-Tech Africa, a Facebook page replacing the defunct African Tech Teachers Network

6.      TeacherTeachTech Profit, a Whatsapp training group for African educators (hacked)

7.      The African Teachers Hub, a Whatsapp group for African educators

8.      Tech4Teens Online Class, hosted on Google Classroom, for African students.

Our feeling is that not much can be achieved in redefining and recovering our lost fortunes in this digital revolution, without a holistic embrace of the digital revolution and all it offers. The next African generation needs technology to lead Africa.

The Covid19 pandemic and its attendant toll on our educational system exposed our lack of preparedness to embrace and excel in this digital revolution. We are here to close the gap.

Besides, we need to equip our teeming youth population with the right skill and mindset for true and effective leadership. Africa has been bedeviled by visionless and inept leadership over these years. And things cannot continue this way if we must excel as a people.

Hence, we need to expand our goal post, to reach out the more for this necessary change, using our various platforms:

1. TeacherTeachTech: training African teachers on digital skills for business and education.

2. Tech4Teens: training African youths on digital skills and 21st century tech awareness.

3. YouLeadAfrica: leadership training for African youths on core principles of effective leadership.

Where you can come in

We need your support to make our vision realized faster than we had projected, since time is now of great essence. How can you do it for us?

  • 1.      Invite us to be part of any leadership training or digital literacy training for African teens. It is part of our reasons for existence, to give to the African youths.

  • 2.      Donate as little as $5 to financially support our project. We need money to enlarge our coast.

  • 3.      If you’re good at edtech and digital literacy, write for us on our blog.

  • 4.      Help us invite teens to join our online class on digital literacy. It is free.

  • 5.      If you can teach coding and app development, please volunteer to join our class as a co-teacher.
