5 Powerful Ways to Use Google Drive in Schools

How to automate school processes with Google Drive

Google Drive is a free cloud storage platform provided by Google to every Gmail account holder. It is also part of the powerful range of tools that come with the G-Suite for Education. With this free cloud storage, schools can pursue a paperless system, which has become a 21st century norm.

If you have never used Google Drive, I will encourage you to watch this video on how to use Google Drive.

a. Google Drive can be used by schools to permanently secure their important files.
There is no better way to secure some important school files than to save it in the cloud, where you can always access it, even if you lose your current device to theft or damage

b. Teachers can create folders for each of their students in Google Drive. This makes sorting student’s files easy. Simply create folders for each child in your class and send every material related to the child to the specific folder.

c. Google Drive is used to create hyperlink for every kind of file- audio, video, graphic, text etc. Every web page is hyperlinked, that's why they are shareable. All you need to access a web page is just to grab it's hyperlink, otherwise called the universal resource locator (url).

But for non-web files (like some of those files you have right now in your system- audio, video, graphic, text etc), the only way to make them shareable and accessible to others is by creating a hyperlink for them. And that is where you need the Google Drive.

d. With Google Drive, Newsletters, students' results and every form of regular dispatch to parents can easily be hyperlinked and sent to parents for easy perusal. With this, there is no need wasting paper and ink on these materials.

e. With Google Drive, schools can run a complete paperless system, where every academic and administrative processes can flow seamlessly without the need for paper work.

Whether it's teachers submitting their lesson plans to their sectional heads or teachers posting the students study materials to individual folders; just think of anything you've been spending money on paper for. Even examination questions can be saved in the Drive cloud pending to the time of the exam.

There are so many other ways to use Google Drive. Watching our explanatory video will guide your more.
